While building sites, local content can be saved in one of three ways:

Saving Layouts

Entire header, body, or footer layouts can be saved for use on other pages. To save a section layout:

  1. From the Rows menu on the UXi® toolbar, click the Save icon above the current layout.
  2. Give the layout a title that describes it.
  3. Add a tag.
  4. Save!

To use a saved layout:

  1. From the Rows menu on the UXi® toolbar, select the section to receive the new layout and click 'New Layout' from the dropdown menu.
  2. From New Layout menu, click the 'Local Content' tab.
  3. Select the newly created layout and click Create.
  4. Now from the same dropdown, select the newly added layout.

Saving Rows

Sometimes only a section of a layout needs to be saved for reuse. To save a single row of a layout:

  1. From the Rows menu on the UXi® toolbar, find the row to save.
  2. Click the save icon on that row.
  3. Give the row a title and tag.
  4. Save!

To add a saved row to a new page:

  1. From the Rows menu on the UXi® toolbar, click Add Row.
  2. From the Add Row menu, select 'Local Content' as the row type.
  3. Click the title of the row to add.
  4. Drag row into correct location on the new layout.

Saving Widgets

If a single site widget needs to be duplicated, use the Save Widget option. This will allow the widget to be re-added, then edited. This is a great option for rows of Calls to Action; create and style ONE widget, then save it, duplicate it, and edit content as needed:

  1. Hover over the widget, and select the Copy Widget option from the widget menu that appears.
  2. Drag the widget to the Save icon that appears in the UXi® toolbar.

To reuse a saved widget:

  1. Hover over the column where the saved widget will be placed, and click the Add Widget button from the widget menu.
  2. Select Local Content from the Add Widget menu and choose the newly saved widget from that list.
  3. Edit content of the new widget as needed.

Copying Widgets

If a single site widget needs to be duplicated to another location on the page, use the Copy Widget option. This will allow the widget to be duplicated in the layout, then edited. This is a great option for rows of Calls to Action; create and style ONE widget, then save it, duplicate it, and edit content as needed:

  1. Hover over the widget, and select the Copy Widget option from the widget menu that appears.
  2. Drag the widget to the empty column.
  3. Edit as needed.

Drag widgets to the save icon on the bottom of the toolbar to save them for re-use on another page, or to an empty column to duplicate them on the current page.
